Laboratory Technician MT

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician. Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician performs work involving the testing of the product to ensure it meets customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The main responsibility includes conducting quality assurance tests to ensure malt meets the customer’s standards and requirements.

  1. Performs laboratory research/tasks.
  2. Records observations, measurements, and reports results.
  3. Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and maintenance of all clean rooms and equipment.
  4. Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, ordering and stocking.
  5. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  6. Assess lab test result validity prior to reporting to manufacturing or customers.
  7. Verify and issue customer reports.
  8. Maintain and improve lab operations by assisting in the development of lab employees and coordinating the maintenance and purchase of lab equipment.
  9. Compare lab test results with expected outcomes to evaluate test result validity prior to reporting.
  10. Works every other weekend or as needed.
  11. Provide technical support to the sales function by preparing special samples and analytical information.

Protective Clothing Required:

The employee must wear safety shoes, safety glasses and a hard hat and a full face respirator when working in manufacturing areas.

The employee will be required to attend comprehensive training in malting technology (hasn’t been trained in malting).
